The Evil Dr. Palindrome!

I know some of you are thinking, "So, Dr. Palindrome is a sexist! That's certainly Evil of him!" Posted by Hello

You should stop for a moment and consider that perhaps you, the reader, are the one who is Evil, for the dirty things you infer when you see this drawing. Perhaps the good doctor is truly feeling tired, and desires a nap on yon mattress before they film the next episode of his little drama. perhaps he is summoning the propmistress, who, admittedly, dresses rather strangely, to take proper care of his sword until the next performance.

Oh! NOW you think I'm implying sexual favors when I use the phrase "...take proper care of his sword..." You have a rather dirty mind, Dear Reader. Have you considered Therapy?

NO! I don't mean SEX Therapy! Sheesh! Where does it end with you? Go to confession, you Pervert!

The Night Wind
(after the watercolor of the same name by Charles Burchfield) Posted by Hello

I found a print of the original painting in an old portfolio from MOMA that was in a used book sale.
I can't find the original image on line, but I'll scan a bit of it in for you, so you can see what inspired me to add the hooded figure with the gas problem:

The Evil Dr. Palindrome!

There were two ways I could have gone with this one. I thought about showing the Doctor refusing to bet on a golf game. But then I figured that if he was an evil doctor, he would be cheating on the golf course, right? Posted by Hello

I also considered using the computer interpretation of "links", but then I wouldn't get to draw the doctor in ugly plaid sportsclothes.

The Wielder of The Thunderbutt
(after a Tibetan woodblock print depicting Chana Dorje) Posted by Hello

I hope I haven't upset my Karmic balance by drawing this. Please note that in the interest of fairness I am more than willing to draw cartoons of any religion's deities farting. It's just a matter of inspiration whenever I get to your particular deity.

The Evil Dr. Palindrome!

Don't believe what they tell you about those late fees. Posted by Hello

Well I finally got a new scanner, so I can start posting my new cartoons whenever I get Off my ass and draw one. The new scanner is different from the HP I had before, so it may take me some time to learn all the intricacies of the new software. ( such as getting the thing to not scan in my blue pencil!)

As I post this cartoon that I drew last week, all the stations are warning us that Blockbuster has a whole mess of hidden charges waiting for you if you bring back a video late. I knew there would be a catch. I hope they scrap the program altogether, and go back to the one-week rentals with late fees. It's hard enough to find a copy of a lesser-known or independent film in stock at the video store. All I can foresee is more difficulty finding an available copy of the movies that I like to watch - the ones that I'm lucky if Blockbuster stocks one or two copies of.
It's hard enough to find one of those at the store, it can only get tougher if lazy customers don't have a deadline to bring it back.

Blockbuster doesn't need to change its old system. People just need to learn that you don't rent a movie unless you know you're going to have time to watch it before it's due back.

Another of my Genesis palindromes. In this one, Peter Gabriel (a very Biblical name!)
is ratting out Phil Collins to their Mother shortly after the floodwaters subsided. Posted by Hello

This is from a period last year when I wanted to show
just how evil the doctor really is,
by interpreting Genesis in his words.

The Evil Dr. Palindrome!

I'd appreciate it if the marketing department from either Water Bottler would cut me a check ASAP. I'm not picky. Posted by Hello

This is still one of my favorites of all the palindromes I've ever devised. FYI, that circle pattern in the background wasn't done with a computer. I actually laid out a diagonal grid, and using graduating circle templates, drew and colored them all in by hand.

I hope I'll be able to get a new one with my Tax refund. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy these cartoons from my archive.
